KPS3 accepting pet supply donations

We are proud to announce that KPS3 is now a Pets of the Homeless donation site. Donation sites like KPS3 can accept sealed pet food and new and gently used pet supplies like collars, leashes, pet bowls, toys, cat litter, flea and tick treatments, and more.

Donations can be taken to KPS3 at 500 Ryland St. Suite 300 in Reno. All donations will be delivered to the Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission. The Pets of the Homeless donation site program is part of a national effort to ensure that the animal companions of homeless Americans are cared for. Pets of the Homeless is the only national animal organization focused solely on feeding and providing emergency veterinary care to pets of homeless people.

Pets of the Homeless was founded in 2008 in Carson City, Nev. Since then, donation sites have collected more than 648 tons of pet food. Pets of the Homeless also provides emergency veterinary care through free wellness clinics and partnerships with veterinary hospitals, and the organization has treated more than 20,000 pets. In total, Pets of the Homeless has given nearly $1.3 million in veterinary care, pet food and crates.

It’s estimated that 3.5 million Americans are homeless. Between 5 and 10 percent of homeless people have pets. In some areas of the country, the rate is as high as 25 percent. The need for pet food, supplies and veterinary care will continue to be a pressing concern for those who find themselves homeless and the pets that rely on them.

Our Thoughts

Being Involved in the Community is About More Than Just Giving

Our work is never finished when it comes to bettering the community around us—it’s what drives us! Committed to Leveling Up Our Community...

Your greatest ally. And worst enemy.

Fear and its omnipresent role during the formation, growth and success of KPS3 cannot be understated. Its fingers touched every higher risk decision, missed opportunity, and created a desire to over-control everything humanly possible. And sometimes inhumanly possible. I have always been in tune with fear. All my life. It’s been a motivator, accelerator, hard driver and protector. I never would have created KPS3 if I hadn’t been afraid of stagnating in the business I had been working (even...

Episode #2: Business Lessons from a Relic, a Straw, and a Stain

When you’re first starting out in the PR and advertising business, two things seem to happen. The first thing is that you feel a little desperate when evaluating prospective clients and sometimes have to consider some who aren’t really going to EVER be ideal clients for you (or anyone, for that matter). The second thing is that you get some really crazy prospects who seem to seek you out because you are fresh meat. All of these happened while...
