As the Vice President of Client Strategy, Mike McDowell is a strategic partner for KPS3 clients, helping them surpass their marketing goals. Mike joined the KPS3 team in 2006 as an account executive and quickly built expertise in website strategy and planning, email marketing, search and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media strategy – leading him to become our Director of Web and Digital. He’s also been teaching Digital Marketing Essentials through the University of Nevada, Reno since 2013.

Mike brings 20 years of integrated marketing communications experience working with a wide range of industries including finance, government, healthcare, economic development, higher education and travel/tourism. His fingerprints are all over the award-winning work we’ve done for clients from digital to traditional marketing.

In 2016, Mike shifted gears to become the Director of Marketing Operations for his alma mater,  the University of Nevada, Reno. Shifting gears again in 2018, he took on the role of Director of Marketing for Talage, an exciting InsurTech startup.

A graduate of the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Mike remains an active member of the campus community. He’s also an elected member of the University of Nevada Alumni Council and the 2012 winner of the University’s Outstanding Young Alumnus of the Year award. Mike is the founder and president of the University’s Nevada Greek Alumni chapter, an Advisor for the Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni Volunteer Corporation and is a six-time winner of the University’s Advisor of the Year award.

Mike is a father of two boys, and loves being a dad so much that he founded Reno Dads (does that make him a founding father?), an organization that fosters active fatherhood and celebrates all things dad life. It’s not all grilling and dad jokes, though. Reno Dads was recognized as the 2018 AAF Promoter of the Year for its efforts in highlighting fatherhood, and promoting family-friendly businesses and events. Fully embracing the dad life, you can catch Mike coaching his kids’ sports teams throughout the year.
