The Nevada Dairymen are a unique group of farmers who care as much about their cows as they do their family. They’re up early, and they work hard to produce wholesome, nutritious dairy products for the state of Nevada.
But they’re more than hard workers — they are great people who like to keep things playful. Our research concluded that playfulness is one of the best ways to connect with dairy consumers — after more research and many iterations the adorable Dairy Doodle crew was born.
Our purpose is to change the misconceptions on dairy floating around the internet. We did this by promoting healthy eating, a balanced diet and addressing myths head-on through our social channels.
At the beginning of 2018, we started with a following of 0 on the Nevada Dairymen Facebook page — now we’re up over 1,400 friends, all of whom live in geographic areas serviced by the Nevada Dairymen.
To broaden our reach and engagement, we also ran Doodle ads on broadcast, cable, radio, digital advertising, and through event promotion. But that wasn’t enough — we wanted to do something big, exciting, and a little different.
At the I-580/I-80 intersection in Reno, Nevada (or the “Spaghetti Bowl,” as we call it), between June 18 and July 18, 2018, the Nevada Dairymen and KPS3 told a story of true love. Each week, the story progressed — we broke all the rules, and put up NEW art on a billboard each week. Check out how the romance evolved here or on Facebook.
