As director of web and digital media, Mike McDowell acts as a strategic partner for clients in all aspects of their digital projects. He brings a strong set of digital chops to the KPS3 table, including expertise in website strategy and planning, email marketing, search engine marketing, mobile applications, digital advertising, video, blogging, social networks, consumer generated media, viral marketing and more. Mike joined the KPS3 team in 2006 as an account executive and gained non-digital project management experience in that role, ultimately allowing him understand and meet his clients’ digital needs in a comprehensive way.
Mike has over ten years of integrated marketing communications experience and currently works with clients in a wide range of industries, including real estate, healthcare, economic development, higher education and tourism. He has his hand in all website, application and digital projects from start to finish, and shares his extensive digital knowledge with the community through the 75 (and counting) social media trainings he has developed and presented to public and private institutions on a volunteer basis.
A graduate of the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Mike remains an active member of the campus community. He works an instructor for the University of Nevada’s Extended Studies Program, where he teaches Inbound Marketing Principles and Practices and Inbound Marketing Analytics. Mike is also an elected member of the University of Nevada Alumni Council and the 2012 winner of the University’s Outstanding Young Alumnus of the Year award. He is the founder and president of the Nevada Greek Alumni chapter, an Advisor for the Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni Volunteer Corporation and is a six-time winner of the University’s Advisor of the Year award. He volunteers his time outside of the community with organizations like Truckee Meadows Tomorrow, the Washoe Freemason Lodge, the Washoe County Chronic Disease Coalition and Young Professionals Network.
Mike believes there is creativity in every single person and is inspired by courageous, daring, high-energy people. He is also inspired by the fact the he can finally be an open Dallas Cowboys fan in public after an especially successful 2014 Fantasy Football season.
