Mike McDowell
Mike McDowell is our Director of Web and Digital Media, assisting KPS3’s clients with the latest media strategies, including website strategy and planning, email marketing, search engine marketing, mobile marketing, video, podcasting, blogging, social networks, consumer generated media, viral marketing and more. As new media tools and trends emerge, Mike investigates and evaluates their strategic value to a marketing mix. He manages all website projects for KPS3’s clients from start to finish. Mike has also developed and presented New/Social Media training to a diverse population of private and public industries in the area and is currently an instructor for the University of Nevada, Reno’s Extended Studies program, teaching Inbound Marketing Principles and Practices and Inbound Marketing Analytics.
Mike joined the KPS3 team in 2006 as an account executive. He is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno’s, Reynolds School of Journalism. With more than ten years of integrated marketing communications experience, Mike has previously worked with other agencies as a marketing account manager for casino clients such as Baldini’s Casino, the Carson Nugget, Gold Dust West Casino, The Lodge and Gilpin Casinos in Colorado, and managed the name and branding change for Clearstar Financial Credit Union (formerly Sierra Schools Credit Union). At KPS3 Mike manages clients in multiple industries from real estate to health care, economic development to financial planning, government agencies and several nonprofits. He oversees and manages integrated marketing communications for his clients - keeping them on brand, on budget and on strategy.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mike has been active in community organizations, including the Washoe Freemason Lodge, the Washoe County Chronic Disease Coalition, Young Professionals Network, and is a graduate of the Washoe County Leadership Academy. He is still involved with the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, as Advisor of the Alumni Volunteer Corporation. In fact, Mike is a multiple-time winner of the Advisor of the Year award from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is also the founder and president of the Greek Alumni Chapter of the University of Nevada, Reno. Mike spends additional time facilitating leadership academies for college students in the western region.
