Lives off a daily dose of design, coffee and prime-time comedies.
Leah Chew joined the KPS3 team in 2013 as a graphic designer and creative thinker. Leah brings a strategist’s mind and doodler’s pen to the team, and can often be found illustrating with intent and sketching on strategy, all in the name of creating unforgettable designs for KPS3’s clients.
Traveling across the country for college, she graduated from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in communications, concentrating on advertising and design. She also minored in psychology, which comes in handy. Through college, she worked as a lead production assistant at the Tsai Performing Arts Center, riding in genie lifts, designing stage lighting and avoiding pushing expensive grand pianos off the stage.
Before finding her passion for graphic design through her high-school yearbook class, she dreamed of being other things: A veterinarian by day, an artist by night, and also had brief childhood aspirations of being a stand-up comedian. However, she couldn’t remember any of her punch lines so that was the end of that.
Since moving back to her hometown of Reno, Nev., she interned full-time at The Glenn Group, started freelancing for clients such as the Great Basin Community Food Co-Op, and became creatively involved in Ad2 Reno’s public service committee.
Leah is inspired by everything from playful typography to creative food packaging to flyers in Reno coffee shops. She also finds inspiration in a good jam session on her ukulele and the uncanny enthusiasm of her four (semi-obedient) dogs every time they trample her.
